Abstract
Under the dual forces of global capitalist expansion and technological advancement, the rapid development of digital platforms has given rise to new forms of employment, bringing the issue of digital workers'loss of discursive power to the forefront. However, this issue largely remains concealed in today's digital labor market.Through an analysis of the labor processes of food delivery workers,a typical labor-intensive group of digital workers, the structural phenomenon of their loss of discursive power is revealed.By examining the dynamics of discourse from the perspectives of discursive scenes, discursive objects, and discursive subjects, this study analyzes the control exerted by algorithmic discipline over discursive scenes, the symbolic violence imposed by discursive objects on subjects, and the differing perceptions of the loss of discourse among the subjects themselves. These factors highlight the deeper mechanisms leading to the silencing of digital workers. In response, digital workers reflect on external control and pursue self-empowerment,offering an opportunity to explore how to reconstruct the discursive power of digital workers from the perspective of food delivery workers as discursive subjects, thereby laying the theoretical foundation for the establishment of more equitable labor relations.
