Why Academic Engagement Occurs?——An Exploratory Analysis Based on Grounded Theory
Academic engagement is of great significance to the in-depth integration of industry and academia and the improvement of the quality of economic development. However, how to effectively promote academic engagement has been a long-standing problem, and the academic community lacks attention and targeted research on the motivation of academic en-gagement.Based on multi-source interview data, the theoretical model of influencing factors of academic engagement is con-structed by using grounded theory, and the internal logic of academic engagement is revealed. It is found that:①macro-sit-uational factors, organizational context factors and individual characteristic factors are the key factors affecting academic en-gagement;Macro-context factors are external prerequisites, organizational context factors are process support factors, and in-dividual characters are internal dynamic factors.②The factors have a differentiated effect, which is independent of each oth-er,can have an impact on academic participation alone, and can have a joint impact on each other.③Under the action of contextual factors,a dynamic cycle relationship is formed between individual characteristic factors and academic engage-ment.The research deepens the theoretical logic and content framework of academic engagement, and can also provide prac-tical enlightenment for the sustainable development of university-industry cooperation at the individual level.
