The Influence of Applied Research on Employees in the Three Industries in OECD Countries
Using the data of 36 OECD countries from 2011 to 2020 as the research sample,the changes in applied re-search funding,patent output,and the number of employees in the three industries were analyzed,the impact of applied re-search funding and patent output on employees in the three industries were discussed.It is found that with the increase in applied research funding,the number of employees in the second and third industries in OECD countries has significantly in-creased;With the increase in patent output,the number of employees in the three industries in OECD countries has signifi-cantly increased;Heterogeneity analysis shows that with the increase of applied research funding and patent output,the num-ber of employees in the three industries in high-income countries has significantly increased,while the number of employees in the the three industries in upper middle income countries has not significantly increased;With the increase of applied re-search funding and patent output,the number of employees in the three industries in countries with high institutional envi-ronment levels has significantly increased,while in countries with low institutional environment levels,only the number of employees in the tertiary industry has significantly increased.
