The background of directors and senior executives and the development of corporate competitive strategies——the moderating effect of corporate digital transformation
The company's competitive strategy serves as a crucial driver in enhancing its competitive advan-tage.Research on the influence of directors with executive backgrounds on the development of corporate competitive strate-gies was conducted,utilizing sample data from companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2010 to 2021.The study revealed that directors with executive backgrounds significantly bolstered the company's competitive strate-gy,fostering the development of both cost leadership and differentiation strategies.Furthermore,considering the perspective of the corporate lifecycle,during the growth and decline phases,directors with executive backgrounds notably emphasized the differentiation strategy over cost leadership strategy.However,in the maturity phase,directors with executive backgrounds had a positive impact on both cost leadership and differentiation strategies.This research contributes to a deeper understand-ing of the relationship between directors'executive backgrounds and corporate competitive strategies,highlighting the signif-icant role of"executive experience"in corporate governance in China.It also provides theoretical and practical insights for corporate governance in terms of board effectiveness.
