查尔默斯以二维语义为视角提出了一种试图融合描述论和直接指称论的新型意义理论;通过重新把握认识论与形而上学的区分与关联,构建了一种较为系统的二维指称理论,以进一步强化"意义—理性—模态"的密切关联.在系统阐释查尔默斯二维指称理论的建构动因、核心内容及其发展历程的基础上,通过深入考察国内外学界就此提出的质疑,并追踪查尔默斯针对这些质疑给出的回应,可为深度把握二维指称理论架构的成就与不足提供方向.
Abstract
On the perspective of two-dimensional semantics,Chalmers proposed a new theory of meaning that attempts to integrate descriptive theory and direct reference theory.By re-grasping the distinction and connection between epistemology and metaphysics,he constructed a relatively systematic two-dimension-al reference theory to further strengthen the close connection between meaning,rationality,and modality.Based on the systematic explanation of the construction motivation,core content,and development pro-cess of Chalmers'two-dimensional reference theory,this paper provides a direction for deeply grasping the achievements and shortcomings of the two-dimensional reference theory framework through in-depth in-vestigation of the doubts raised by the academic community at home and abroad,and tracking Chalmers'responses to these doubts.
