Visual Ethics and Contemporary Approaches of French Ethical Aesthetics
The study of contemporary ethical aesthetics aims to rethink the complex relationships between ethics and aesthetics.Following the trend of deconstructionism,Levinas promoted the ethical turn of contemporary French ideology by thinking about the other/otherness issues, guided by its paradigm of"ethical aesthetics of other",with Jacques Derrida,Jean-Francois Lyotard,Maurice Blanchot,Jean-Luc Nancy, and Jacques Rancière,the approaches of French ethics and aesthetics have formed different orienta-tions,such as how to rethink aesthetics and art through deconstruction, how(disaster)events are ethically represent, how art is presented between singularity and plurality, the ethical evolution of psychoanalysis and trauma research. The uniqueness of French ethical aesthetics lies in its engagement by micro-percep-tion,constructing sensuous politics of visual ethics to reveal the two-dimensional interpretation dimension of aesthetics and ethics, and then through the issues of self,other/otherness,difference and community to activate contemporary aesthetic research.
