Tensile tests at low temperature (77K) for the 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel wered carried out. Two welding methods (SMAW and TIG) were used in the test. The microstructure in the vicinity and joint-welding of tensile fracture surfaces were analyzed using optical microscope and the fractures of tensile samples were observed by SEM. The effect of the two welding methods (SMAW and TIG) at low temperature (77K) on tensile deformation behavior of 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel was studied. Experimental results showed that The means of TIG is better than the means of SMAW in the aspects of the tensile properties at low temperatures, The properties of tensile tests was improved by heat-treatment; Martensite appeared in the microstructure nearby the tensile fractures and its amount increased very more and very smaller . The quantities of martensite appeared more in heat-treatment of TIG than in the other situation of microstructure. And martensite changes very small; The primary factors to induce deformation behavior of 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel were analyzed in the tests.
