Nowadays, the premature wall-cracking of basement is a frequent quality issue in projects. In this paper, a residential building in Yinchuan Base was selected as a case to study on the reasons for wall-cracking of basement. And the results showed three factors resulted in wall-cracking, which contained excessive concrete heat of hydration, premature wall form removal and unhealthy maintenances. According to this, five precautions were propounded. Firstly, the structure function of horizontal rib should be attached great importance to. Secondly, post-poured strip should be set. Thirdly, hidden beam and pillar should be used. Fourthly, the heat of hydration should be reduced. Finally, the maintenances should be maximized.
