This paper divides ship lengthening project into three main phases and discusses different technical plans for each stages,makes the classification and selection of plans more intuitive and flexible,then puts forward the idea of the use of a giant floating crane in ship lengthening project,providing a fundamental technical reference for the domestic ship enterprises’ similar modification projects.
