Abstract
American Anti-war songs in the 1960s have great influence on the people at that age and people nowadays.The influence comes from melodies and lyrics,lyrics will be the subject of this article.On the basis of systematic functional linguistics proposed by Halliday,the impact on listeners of lyrics is the achievement of the realization of interpersonal meaning.In this article,twenty typical American anti-war songs in the 1960s are selected to be studied from the perspective of interpersonal meaning.
