Clinical effect of polycystic ovary syndrome infertility combined with metformin and letrozole
Objective To analyze the clinical effect of polycystic ovary syndrome infertility combined with metformin and letrozole. Methods A total of 70 infertility patients with polycystic ovary syndrome admitted to our hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 were selected as research objects, randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The control group was treated with letrozole, and the experimental group was treated with metformin combined with letrozole. The improvement of sex hormone indexes, insulin resistance and blood sugar indexes of the two groups were compared. Results The growth time of follicles, the number of dominant follicles, the number of ovulation and the pregnancy rate of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group after treatment, P<0.05, the difference was statistically significant. The sex hormone indexes and glucose metabolism indexes of the two groups before treatment were compared, P>0.05, and the difference was not statistically significant. The glucose metabolism indexes and sex hormone indexes of experimental group were lower than those of control group after treatment, P<0.05, and the difference was statistically significant. BIM index and endometrial thickness before treatment were compared between the two groups (P>0.05), and there was no statistical significance. The BIM index and endometrial thickness of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group after treatment, P<0.05, and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion Metformin combined with letrozole can improve insulin resistance in infertility patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, and improve sex hormone and glucose metabolism while ensuring treatment effect, which has a positive effect on increasing pregnancy rate.
