Objective To investigate the clinical value of orthokeratology in the treatment of juvenile myopia. Methods A total of 54 adolescent myopia patients treated in our hospital were selected as the research object, with 108 eyes from January 2021 to January 2022. They were divided into control group (n=27, 54 eyes in total) and observation group (n=27, 54 eyes in total) by blind selection method. Among them, the control group wore frame glasses for correction; The observation group wore orthokeratology lenses for correction. The patients were observed for half a year, the occurrence of complications (corneal ulcer, perforation, scar) were statistically analyzed, and the changes of visual acuity before and after treatment were observed to evaluate the therapeutic effect. Results No obvious complications occurred in the two groups during visual acuity correction. Some patients complained of mild eye swelling, fatigue and other phenomena, and their clinical symptoms were significantly relieved after the use of eye drops. Before treatment, there was no significant difference in diopter and axial length between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the improvement of diopter and axial length in observation group was greater than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The orthokeratology lens wearing treatment for adolescent patients with myopia, under the condition of wearing standard, basically no serious complications, good safety, and can control the myopia condition of patients, is an effective measure to alleviate the progression of myopia.
