Objective To explore the application value of risk management in surgical nursing management. Methods A total of 126 patients admitted to our hospital from March 2021 to June 2022 were selected and divided into study group and control group according to random number table method, with 63 cases in each group. The control group adopted basic nursing, and the research group adopted basic nursing + nursing risk management. Nursing satisfaction, adverse events, nursing quality, quality of life before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The nursing satisfaction of the study group was 98.41%, and that of the control group was 87.30%. The total incidence of adverse events such as falling, falling, nosocomial infection, pipeline slip, medication error and nursing error was 11.11% in the study group, which was lower than 28.57% in the control group. The scores of safety knowledge, protective measures, professional skills and service concept in the study group were higher than those in the control group. The nursing effect was better than that of the control group. After intervention, the scores of physiological, social function, emotional function and mental health of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Risk management in surgical nursing management can effectively improve the safety of patient nursing, reduce the complaint rate, improve the level of nursing.
