Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of acupuncture and massage on hypertonia after stroke. Methods 60 patients with hypertonia after stroke treated in our hospital from September 2020 to August 2022 were divided into group A and group B. Group A received routine rehabilitation and group B received acupuncture and massage treatment. The level of muscle tone, ability of daily living activities, neurological defect, limb motor function, quality of life and clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared. Results MAS score of group B was lower than that of group A, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The ADL score of group B was higher than that of group A, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). NIHSS score of group B was lower than that of group A, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). FMA scores of upper limbs and lower limbs in group B were higher than those in group A, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of physical, psychological, social, material and other dimensions of life quality in group B were higher than those in group A, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The effective rate of group B was 96.67%, higher than that of group A, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture and massage can significantly improve the level of muscle tension, activities of daily living and limb motor function of patients, and significantly reduce the degree of neurological dysfunction of patients, so as to help patients obtain higher clinical treatment efficiency, promote the overall improvement of their quality of life.
