Objective To explore the clinical application value of 160 mm wide body detector combined with adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction V (ASIR-V) in CT urography (CTU) of infants. Methods 13 patients in group A and group B undertook CTU examinations and abdomen routine scan respectively. Group A underwent axial scanning with 160 mm detector and 40% ASIR-V. Group B underwent helical scanning with 40mm detector, The CT dose index volume (CTDIvol) about excretory phase of group A and group B were recorded and compared. The image quality of group A were assessed by two physicians subjectively with 5-point evaluation method. Results The CTDIvol of excretory phase of group A was (1.55±0.10)mGy. The CTDIvol of group B was (1.66±0.15)mGy. The CTDIvol was significantly different between the two groups (P<0.05). The image quality scores of the two physicians showed a strong consistency (k=0.714), and average score was 3.62. Conclusion On the premise of ensuring good quality of image for diagnosis, 160 mm wide body detector combined with ASIR-V in CTU of infant can reduce the radiation dose effectively.
