Geographic Information(GIS)software has significant advantages in quantitative analysis of planning and design.GIS software can integrate data into vector and raster images,and summarize them into different types of readable analysis drawings through operations such as weight assignment and overlay analysis.GIS software has stronger data storage capabilities,analysis and decision-making assistance capabilities for conventional urban planning and design software.GIS software can draw macro to micro analysis charts,and provide urban planners with many more accurate analysis methods and design methods in terms of visual analysis,construction suitability analysis,urban modeling and secondary development.Based on this condition,this paper discusses the application of geographic information software in urban planning.
