The construction mileage of highway engineering is increasing year by year,and the quality requirements for route design schemes becomes increasingly stringent.Therefore,the quality of route selection has a great impact on the safety of highway driving in the subsequent stage,and improper route selection may seriously affect traffic safety and even cause traffic accidents.The traditional highway route design mainly relies on manual experience and specifications,resulting in a low efficiency,and the comprehensive quality and experience requirements of designers are also very high.The emergence of GIS technology can effectively solve the above problems.Based on this condition,this paper focuses on the application of GIS in highway route design,for the reference of relevant practitioners.
