Study on Effect of Virtual Simulation Experiment of Aseptic Technique in Experimental Teaching of Operative Surgery
Objective:To explore the effect of a blended teaching method based on virtual simulation experiment of aseptic technique combined with offline operation in experimental teaching of operative surgery. Methods:A total of 410 students from 8 classes of Grade 2020 and Grade 2019 clinical medicine major in a medical university in Xinjiang were divided into two groups for comparative study. The 208 students of Grade 2020 in experimental group received a blended teaching method based on virtual simulation experiment of aseptic technique combined with offline operation practice. The 202 students of Grade 2019 in control group were taught according to traditional teaching methods.Learning effects were evaluated through scores on aseptic technique tests, scores on comprehensive operation at the end of the course, student satisfaction questionnaires, and scores on critical thinking. Results:The experimental group had higher scores in aseptic technique single test, comprehensive operation assessments at the end of the course, student satisfaction and critical thinking than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The blended teaching method based on virtual simulation experiment of aseptic technique combined with offline operation practice can improve students'aseptic technique operation performance and experimental operation performance. The method is worth promoting.
