Research on the Selection and Development of Competitive Industries in Chongqing
The industrial economy remains a key sector supporting the high-quality development of China's economy under the new normal condition.Among these industrial sectors,competitive industries are even the core driving force of economic growth.This paper analyzes the current situation and shortages of Chongqing's industrial development,and adopts the location quotient method to screen out the competitive industries among Chongqing's industrial sectors.The study found that Chongqing's competitive industries mainly include the following four industries:non-metallic mining and processing,automobile manufacturing,railway,shipbuilding,aerospace,and other transportation equipment manufacturing,and computer,communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing.Moreover,these four competitive industries also belong to Chongqing's pillar industries.Based on these competitive industries and the foundation and conditions of Chongqing's industrial development,this study proposes suggestions for the development of competitive industries from the perspectives of industrial chain,agglomeration effect,spatial layout,and innovation capability.
