Objective To understand the current situation and influencing factors of the humanistic care ability of elderly care workers,and to provide a reference for formulating strategies to improve this ability.Methods 137 elderly care workers from 3 elderly care institutions in Changsha were selected by cluster sampling method as the research subjects.A cross-sectional study was conducted using general information questionnaires and the Chinese version of the Caring Ability Scale.Result A total of 137 survey questionnaires were distributed,and 130 valid questionnaires were collected,with an effective response rate of 94.9%.The total score of humanistic care ability for elderly care workers is 189.06±17.61;the cognitive dimension score is 72±6.84;the courage dimension score is 57.92±10.56;and the patient dimension score is 59.16±6.03.Family care,work atmosphere,and continuing education are the influencing factors on the humanistic care ability of elderly care workers(p<0.05).Conclusion The humanistic care abilities of 130 elderly care workers are at a moderate level.Influential factors include family care,work atmosphere,and continuing education.Managers and educators in elderly care should focus on enhancing these abilities by fostering a supportive work environment and promoting ongoing education.
