Mind Mapping to Guide Cancer Pain Care:Analysis of the Effect on Chemotherapy for Advanced Lung Cancer
Objective This study aims to explore the effect of mind mapping-guided cancer pain care on patients with advanced lung cancer undergoing chemotherapy.Method This study included 60 patients with advanced lung cancer who underwent chemotherapy in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2023.They were randomly assigned to a control group and an experimental group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received routine cancer pain care, while the experimental group received mind mapping-guided cancer pain care. The pain scores, negative emotions, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in VAS(Visual Analog Scale)scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05).The VAS scores of both groups decreased after intervention, but the VAS scores of patients in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in SAS(Self-rating Anxiety Scale)and SDS(Self-rating Depression Scale)scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05).After intervention, the SAS and SDS scores of both groups decreased, and the SAS and SDS scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in SF-36(36-Item Short Form Health Survey)scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05).However,the SF-36 scores of both groups increased after intervention, and the SF-36 scores of patients in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Mind mapping-guided cancer pain nursing has good clinical significance in the clinical care of patients with advanced lung cancer undergoing chemotherapy. It can effectively reduce the pain level of these patients, improve their anxiety and depression, and thus enhance their quality of life.It is worth promoting and applying in clinical practice.
