Strategies for Improving Social-Emotional Competence of International Teenagers Based on Evidence-Based Education:Take the OECD SSES as an Example
Social-emotional competence is crucial for promoting the development of young people and enhancing the quality of education.At the same time,the education field also needs to adopt an evidence-based approach to ensure scientific and professional strategic choices.For this reason,the OECD released the report"Beyond Academic Learning-First Results from the Survey on Social and Emotional Skill"in 2021.Based on evidence acquisition,evidence analysis,and evidence application,conducted an evidence-based education analysis of this report,mainly proposing five strategies to improve adolescents'social-emotional competence from the perspective of teachers,including:teachers should weaken the concept of gender roles;protect students'thirst for knowledge in various ways;help students understand,recognize,and adjust their mental health;create a positive,inclusive,and supportive classroom atmosphere to reduce bullying;and be adept at using evaluative feedback to promote students'social-emotional competence.
