Discussion on Design Thrust of Concave-Fold Retaining Wall
Retaining wall is one of the main measures to renovate mine slag slope.Gravity retaining wall has been widely used because of its advantages of local materials,convenient construction and good economic effect.There are many types of gravity retaining walls,but for some retaining walls with a height of more than 20 m,the conventional type cannot meet the requirements of bearing capacity and stability,and the concave-fold retaining wall is often used in practical projects.By analyzing the shape of the concave-fold retaining wall,the soil behind the concave-fold retaining wall was divided into blocks.According to the stress analysis of the blocks,the calculation formula of the landslide thrust and active earth pressure of the concave-fold retaining wall was derived,and it was applied to a manganese slag landfill site 2# slag dam.The results show that the active earth pressure value of the concave-fold retaining wall under natural conditions,rainstorm conditions and earthquake conditions is much larger than the landslide thrust value.The anti-slip stability safety factors obtained by the calculation formula under three working conditions are greater than the anti-slip stability safety factor required by the specification.It shows that the calculation formula can be well applied to the concave-folded retaining wall,and can also be applied to the special retaining wall with curved wall back.
