Influence of Inflation in Vortex Finder on the Separation Effect of Water-Only Cyclone
In order to improve the separation effect of the water-only cyclone,a new type of inflatable water-only cyclone was designed, that is,an inflatable device was set up at the top of the vortex finder of the water-only cyclone, and the influence of inflation rate and feeding pressure on the separation effect of the inflatable water-only cyclone was studied. The experimental results show that after inflation through the vortex finder, the overflow ash content remains basically unchanged, and the bottom flow ash content of-0.5 mm to+0.25 mm particle size increases from 51.80%to 72.75%,indicating that the introduction of gas has a promoting effect on re-selection and separation. The optimal inflation amount is 2.4 Nm3/h.Under inflation conditions, increasing the feeding pressure results in a sl ight increase in overflow ash content at each particle level,a significant increase in underflow ash content, and a significant improvement in separation efficiency.Using Ansys Fluent software, the flow field of an inflatable water-only cyclone was simulated. The simulation results show that after inflation through the vortex finder, the air column inside the cyclone disappears, the fluid flow trajectory in some areas of the cyclone changes, and a more obvious and new separation zone appears in the cone of the underflow port.Combining the comparing experiment and simulation results,it can be concluded that the increase of the actual separation space in the cyclone, the change of the fluid flow characteristics and the enhancement of the separation effect in cone are the main reasons for the increase of the separation effect of the water-only cyclone after the vortex finder is inflated.
