Groundwater Pollution Migration Prediction and Control Scheme Simulation Around an Iron Tailings Reservoir
In order to effectively control the groundwater pollution around an iron tailings reservoir and reveal the influence of rainfall and permeability coefficient on the migration law of heavy metal iron ions in groundwater, taking an iron tailings reservoir in China as an example,a solute transport model of heavy metal iron ions in the study area was established based on Visual Modflow. The migration and diffusion process of metal iron ions in groundwater under abnormal conditions was simulated, and the control effect of surface hardening and the addition of cut-off wall on pollutant migration was simulated and analyzed. The results show that the migration rate of iron ions increases with the increase of rainfall and permeability coefficient, and the migration rate of iron ions in wet season is about 1.7 times that in dry season.Surface hardening and the addition of cut-off wall can effectively control the impact of heavy metal iron ion leakage on downstream villages, and the addition of cut-off wall has a better control effect. The results can provide a reference for the prevention and management of potential groundwater heavy metal pollution and the protection of groundwater environment.
