Taixianggeng-1402,a new rice variety,is a late-maturing,middle-japonica and early-maturing variety.Its female parent is Wuyungeng-21 and its male parent is Zhendao-88/Guandong-194.This variety has strong tillering ability,compact plant type,strong lodging resistance and excellent taste quality.It was approved by Jiangsu Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2021,and is suitable for planting in Central Jiangsu and Ning-zhen-yang hilly areas of Jiangsu Province.The breeding situation and characteristics of this variety were introduced,and the key points of high-yield cultivation techniques were summarized from sowing,seedling raising,transplanting,water slurry management,fertilizer operation,disease and insect pest control and so on.
