Mutation breeding is an efficient breeding technique which can provide help for the breeding of new rice varieties.The application of random mutation induced by chemical mutation,physical mutation,space mutation,polyploid mutation and mutagen combination in rice breeding was summarized,the screening and identification methods of mutation were summarized,the advantages and disadvantages of mutation breeding were analyzed and the future work of rice mutation breeding was prospected.
