The protection of new varieties of plants is a form of intellectual property protection.The statistical results showed that the number of application and authorization of new plant variety right of rice in China increased year by year from 2001 to 2021;At the national level,the application volume of enterprises is higher than that of scientific research institutions and individuals;In Liaoning Province,the number of application of scientific research institutes and universities accounted for a high proportion,and the participation of enterprises and individuals was low.At present,the review time of new plant variety right in China is long and the protection period of new varieties is short.The protection consciousness of new rice variety right in Liaoning Province needs to be enhanced.Publicity should be strengthened to enhance people's awareness of the protection of new variety right,and the participation of enterprises in the protection of new varieties should be enhanced.
