Implications of Sectarianism Struggle after the Merger of Nepal Communist Party(NCP)
Sectarianism is a major feature of Nepal's communist movement, which has the adverse effect of perpetuating the absence of a unified leadership core, undermining the unity of the revolutionary forces, losing the achievement of the revolution, and detaching from the people.Nepal Communist Party, which was formed by merging in 2018 and formally splitting up and disintegrating once again at the begin-ning of 2021,has witnessed at least two major sectarian struggles, one between NCP co-chairman Oli and NCP Central Secretariat member Nepal, which eventually led to actual split of the party. And one between two co-chairmen,Oli and Dahal, which ultimately led to the split again. It can be concluded from the NCP's quest to deal with sectarian struggles that Nepalese communist movement needs to strengthen its ideals and beliefs, enhance party building, implement democratic centralism, and learn from the successful experiences of the international communist movement in order to properly deal with the problem of sectarianism.
