Analysis of the current status and influencing factors of preoperative psychological adaptability of lung cancer patients
Objective The aim of this study was to assess the psychological adaptability of preoperative lung cancer patients and their influencing factors, with a view to providing a theoretical basis for psychological intervention in preoperative lung cancer patients. Methods Using a cross-sectional study,246 preoperative lung cancer patients were surveyed from September 2022 to September 2023 by a self-designed questionnaire.Preoperative psychological adjustment of lung cancer patients was assessed by the Cancer Self-Efficacy Scale to evaluate patients'preoperative psychological adjustment.Patients'general information, anxiety and depression, quality of life status and social sup-port were investigated.Multifactorial logistic regression analysis was used to explore the factors affecting psychological adaptability. Results Among 246 preoperative lung cancer patients,64 patients(26.0%)had high psychological adaptability and 182 patients(74.0%)had poor psychological adaptability.Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that gender(female)(OR=1.232,95%CI=1.112~1.373),age(OR=4.051,95%CI=1.060~15.034),time to diagnosis of lung cancer(months)(OR=4.754,95%CI=1.482~16.084),BAI score(OR=2.933,and 95%CI=1.481~5.582)and BDI score(OR=2.754,95%CI=1.333~6.523)were risk factors for preoperative psychological adaptability in lung cancer patients;SF-36 score(OR=0.432,95%CI=0.302~0.654)and PSSS score(OR=0.862,95%CI=0.773~0.962)were protective factors for preoperative psychological adapt-ability in lung cancer patients. Conclusion Preoperative psychological adjustment in lung cancer patients is influ-enced by a variety of factors, including gender, age, time of disease diagnosis, symptoms of anxiety and depression, and perceived social support and quality of life. These findings highlight the importance of mental health assessment and support for patients during lung cancer treatment. It provides a theoretical basis for the intervention study of pre-operative psychological adaptability of lung cancer patients in the future.
