Objective To explore the diagnostic value of CT in spinal osteophyte score of SAPHO syndrome, and to fur-ther study the correlation between spinal osteophyte score and clinical data. Methods Data of 31 patients with SAPHO syndrome diagnosed in our hospital were collected. All patients underwent total spine CT examination.Osteophytes were scored according to the 2017 CT ligament osteophyte score(CTSS)for ankylosing spondylitis.Cervical osteophyte score, thoracic osteophyte score, lumbar osteophyte score, total spinal osteophyte score, sagittal osteophyte score and coronal osteo-phyte score were calculated and analyzed.Clinical data including age, course of disease, neck rotation, spinal range of mo-tion,degree of scoliosis, finger and ground distance, occipital wall distance, ankle distance,ESR and CRP were measured and the correlation between vertebral osteophyte score and clinical data was analyzed.Results(1)Cervical osteophyte score, thoracic osteophyte score, lumbar osteophyte score, total spinal osteophyte score, sagittal osteophyte score and coronal osteophyte score were 19.77±19.02,42.23±29.42,25.35±19.84,87.35±56.09,60.45±20.45,37.71±29.25,re-spectively;(2)Pearson correlation analysis of total vertebral osteophyte score and sagittal osteophyte score with age showed statistical significance, with P values less than 0.05 and r values of 0.599 and 0.610,respectively;(3)Pearson correlation analysis showed statistical significance between total vertebral osteophyte score and scoliosis degree, with P<0.05 and r values of-0.481,respectively.Conclusion CT can evaluate the osteophyte status of SAPHO syndrome patients, and can be used for quantitative analysis.Advanced age is a risk factor for osteophyte status progression in SAPHO syndrome, and progression of osteophyte status may be a risk factor for reduced degree of scoliosis.
