Objective To compare the application value of cine magnetic resonance imaging(cine-MRI)and transperi-neal ultrasonography(TLUS)in the diagnosis and evaluation of pelvic organ prolapse(POP).Methods 73 subjects diag-nosed as POP by pelvic organ prolapse quantification(POP-Q)were enrolled and examined by cine-MRI and TLUS respec-tively.In order to evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of cine-MRI and TLUS,image data acquired at rest and maximal Valsal-va maneuver were observed and analyzed. Results The distances from each anatomical landmarks on the vaginal wall to the marginal hymen were positively correlated with the vertical distance from each reference point of cine MRI and TLUS to the reference line(P<0.05),cine-MRI vs POP-Q and TLUS vs POP-Q had a great consistency in the diagnosing the grad-ing of anterior and middle pelvic cavity(P<0.05)but poor in the posterior pelvic cavity(P<0.001).Conclusion Cine-MRI scan and TLUS examination can evaluate the grading of POP,meanwhile,cine-MRI scan can be used as a priority aux-iliary diagnostic tool for posterior pelvic cavity, which can provide a reliable diagnostic?evidence for the clinical work.
