Objective To explore the diagnostic value of energy spectrum CT parameters in type 2 diabetes(T2DM)with sarcopenia. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 69 T2DM patients hospitalized in the endocrine department of North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital from November 2021 to November 2022.According to the diagnostic criteria in the 2019 Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Sar-copenia,they were divided into a T2DM with sarcopenia group(case group)of 37 cases and a T2DM without sarcopenia group(control group)of 32 cases.Baseline data, fourth thoracic spine and first lumbar spine energy spectrum CT parame-ters were compared and analyzed between the two groups of patients.ROC curves were applied to judge the efficacy of ener-gy spectrum CT parameters for the diagnosis of T2DM combined with myasthenia gravis, and logistic regression was per-formed to analyze whether the efficacy of energy spectrum CT parameters were predictive factors for T2DM combined with myasthenia gravis, after transforming the measured data into dichotomous data according to the obtained thresholds. Results The difference in baseline data between the two groups was statistically significant only for step speed and ASMI(P<0.05).The fourth thoracic vertebrae body single energy CT values from 40 keV to 140 keV,Iodine(Water),HAP(Water),HAP(Fat),Calcium(Water)density values and the slope of spectral Hu curve(λ)were significantly lower in the T2DM combined with sarcopenia group compared to the T2DM uncomplicated sarcopenia group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of the ROC curves showed that the AUCs of the single energy CT values from 40keV to 140keV,Iodine(Water),HAP(Water),HAP(Fat),Calcium(Water)density values, and λ of the fourth thoracic verte-brae were greater than 0.75.Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that the single energy CT values from 40 keV to 140 keV,Iodine(Water),HAP(Water),HAP(Fat),Calcium(Water)density values, and λ of the fourth thoracic verte-brae in patients with T2DM were predictors of combined sarcopenia in T2DM(all P<0.05).Conclusion Chest energy spectrum CT scans are of practical value in the diagnosis of T2DM combined with sarcopenia.
