Study on the Effect of Modified Bamboo Powder Addition on the Properties of Resin-reinforced Bamboo Fiber Cloth Composite Sheets
Resin-fiber composites could significantly enhance the properties of materials, which can be widely used in the field of home building materials. In this study, bamboo fiber fabric was combined with acrylic resin, then bamboo powder modified with maleic anhydride(MA)and TiO2 were employed as fillers to improve the compatibility of the interface, resulting in the fabrication of resin-reinforced bamboo fiber fabric composite sheets. The microstructure and properties of the prepared sheets were evaluated. The results indicated that the material prepared with MA-modified bamboo powder exhibited a smoother and denser microsurface, with fillers distributing more uniformly and compactly within the bamboo fiber fabric. The number of hydroxyl groups on the surface of the bamboo powder reduced after MA modification, facilitating the thorough impregnation of the slurry into the interior of the bamboo fiber fabric. The addition of MA-modified bamboo powder enhanced the hydrophobicity of the samples. The tensile strength and strain can be increased by up to 80.73%and 48.36%,respectively.The research results broadened the application scenario of bamboo fiber composite materials.
