Disease Characteristics and Damage Evaluation of Wooden Pavilions in Humid Regions
In order to study the disease characteristics of wooden pavilions in humid regions, field investigations were conducted on 70 wooden pavilions within the Guiyang region. The construction and climate information was collected, and the decay, cracking, discoloration, and insect infestation diseases of the wooden pavilions were measured and statistically analyzed.Based on the collected data, the disease characteristics of wooden pavilions were analyzed, and a mathematical model was established to evaluate the damage status of the pavilions. The results indicated that the decay disease of wooden pavilions was more severe, and the damage was positively correlated with the height of the components from the ground.Cracking disease was common in pavilions, especially in large-sized beam and column components. The discoloration disease was significantly affected by moisture, but had little effect on the structural performance.Insect infestation was relatively slight and mainly occurs in beam and column components. In addition, damage assessment showed that the surveyed pavilions were mostly of general or more severe damage, accounting for 84.3%and 15.7%,respectively.
