The Construction and Empirical Study for the Low-carbon Competitiveness Index for Listed Paper Companies
Constructing a scientific low-carbon competitiveness index for listed paper companies is essential for accurately assessing low-carbon competitiveness and providing decision-making references for strategy development. In the context of"double carbon goal",the low-carbon was considered a limiting factor in enterprise development. Therefore,a low-carbon competitiveness index for listed paper companies was constructed. Moreover, the low-carbon competitiveness index of these companies was measured using"vertical-and-horizontal"scatter-degree.The results indicated that, from 2018 to 2022,the overall level of the low-carbon competitiveness index for listed paper companies was relatively low, showing a fluctuating upward trend. In terms of primary indicators,low-carbon management was generally at a high level with significant growth in corporate performance, while other indicators remained at intermediate levels.Compared to traditional competitiveness indices, the low-carbon competitiveness index can be observed that the former more accurately and comprehensively reflects the competitiveness of listed paper companies in the context of"double carbon goal".This paper proposed policy insights such as optimizing environmental consciousness, advocating for consumption of green products, accelerating structural adjustments in raw materials, advancing clean production scientifically, strengthening investment in technological research and development, and enhancing support for energy conservation and emission reduction,in order to enhance the low-carbon competitiveness for listed paper companies.
