Research Progress on Industrial Development and Utilization of Gardenia jasminoides J.Ellis
Gardenia jasminoides J.Ellis was a medicinal and edible plant with the large planting area and wide application.It contained a variety of bioactive compounds including iridoid,volatile oil,polysaccharide,flavonoids,etc.This plant was not only a natural colorant raw material,but also as a traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of diseases.It had anti-inflammatory,antiviral,anti-tumor,and had protective effects on liver,gastrointestinal,nerve.This paper reviewed G.jasminoides J.Ellis in industrial development and utilization,and introduced the application status of G.jasminoides J.Ellis in food industry,pharmaceutical industry,daily chemical industry,textile industry and feed industry,especially in the fields of food additives,functional food and pharmacological activity.At the same time,the industrialization development problem of G.jasminoides J.Ellis was also analyzed and discussed,and the suggestions were putted forword,in order to provide reference for the extension of the industrial chain and the high value utilization of G.jasminoides J.Ellis.
