Comparative and visualization analysis of research hotspots and development trends in tooth loss studies at home and abroad based on CiteSpace
Objective:To conduct a visual analysis of tooth loss-related research at home and abroad, understanding its current status, hotspots and trends. Methods:Using the CNKI and Web of Science Core Collection databases as retrieval sources, including tooth loss-related literature published from January 1,2000 to October 31,2023.CiteSpace 6.2.R4 and Excel were employed for visual analysis of the included literature. Results:A total of 926 Chinese and 3826 English papers were included. The overall publication volume in Chinese and English showed a fluctuating upward trend.Collaboration was partially close but generally scattered, with slightly better collaboration internationally than domestically.Domestic research focused on the current situation of tooth loss in elderly patients and implantation techniques, while foreign research paid more attention to specific interventions and the global burden of oral health. Conclusion:Future research could actively explore personalized medicine, oral health in the elderly, and the application of digital technologies in the field of tooth loss.Strength-ening domestic academic exchange and research cooperation is recommended to promote knowledge sharing and the advance-ment of research outcomes.
