Comparative study on the preparation effect with two types of single formed rotary systems in simulated singel curved root canals
Objective:To compare the shaping effect of preparation with M3-L and HyFlex-EDM single formed rotary systems in resin simulated single curved root canals.Methods:Forty simulated single curved root canals were randomly divid-ed into two groups(n=20).Root canal preparation was performed with M3-L and HyFlex-EDM nickel-titanium files.Before and after root canal preparation images were taken by a dental surgery microscope.Measurement of simulated root canal quali-ty and variations in working length.Root canal deviation was calculated.Results:The working length of the root canal after root canal preparation in the M3-L group was(15.654±0.004)mm,(15.662±0.001)mm for HyFlex-EDM group.The differ-ence was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The quality and root canal deviation of the resin simulated root canals at all sites after preparation were not statistically significant difference between M3-L and HyFlex-EDM group(P>0.05).Conclu-sion:In the resin models the two instruments keep the original canal curvature well.The central positioning ability of root ca-nal preparation by M3-L and HyFlex-EDM single formed rotary systems were equally in simulated curved root canals.
