Cognition and learning status on MOOCs and flipped classroom in dental students:a survey study
Objective:To understand the cognition and learning status on massive open online courses(MOOCs)and flipped classroom in dental students.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted to dental undergraduates.Information on the cognition and learning status on MOOCs and flipped classroom in dental students were collected and analyzed.Re-sults:All the survey subjects knew and experienced MOOCs learning,78.1%students reported that MOOCs were helpful for their study.58.9%and 41.1%students agreed with the teaching model combining MOOCs with traditional classroom and the traditional classroom learning model respectively,whereas no one agreed with the sole MOOCs learning model.Only 13.7%students have known about and attended the flipped classroom,50%among which considered flipped classroom was very helpful or helpful for their study.70%students agreed with the traditional classroom learning,30%students agreed with the teaching model combining flipped classroom with traditional classroom,and no one agree with a single flipped classroom mode.Conclusion:The cognition and learning status of MOOCs have reached a popular level among dentistry students.On the contrary,the cognition and learning experience of flipped classroom in dentistry students is still at a low level.
