Evaluation of the application of the HPS model in the teaching of orthodontics
Objective:To evaluate the effect of the HPS model in the teaching of orthodontics.Methods:Undergrad-uate students in our university were divided into two groups:students in the control group(n=30)received an orthodontic cur-riculum in the traditional model while students in the experimental group(n=30)were taught in the HPS model.The differ-ence in the examination results between the two groups was compared,and the satisfaction was surveyed by questionnaires.Results:The students in the experimental group got significantly higher scores than those in the control group(P<0.001),and were more satisfied with the curriculum(P<0.01).Conclusion:The application of the HPS model in the teaching of or-thodontics is beneficial in the examination outcome and satisfaction of students.
