Relationship between the expression levels of Foxp3 mRNA,IL-34 mRNA,miR-146a-5p and periodontal indexes in patients with periodontitis
Objective:To analyze the relationship between the expression levels of transcription factor forkhead box protein 3(Foxp3)mRNA,interleukin-34(IL-34)mRNA,micro RNA(miRNA)-146a-5p and periodontal indexes in patients with periodontitis. Methods:A total of 118 patients with periodontitis admitted to our hospital from April 2021 to April 2023 were included in the study group[mild(n=51),moderate(n=42),severe(n=25)],and 125 patients with impacted tooth extraction were included in the control group during the same period. The levels of Foxp3 mRNA,IL-34 mRNA,miR-146a-5p,laboratory and periodontal indexes of patients with different periodontal inflammation were compared between the study group and the control group. The correlation between Foxp3 mRNA,IL-34 mRNA,miR-146a-5p and periodontal indexes in periodontitis patients was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis. Results:The expressions of Foxp3 mRNA,IL-34 mRNA and miR-146a-5p in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The expression levels of Foxp3 mRNA,IL-34 mRNA,miR-146a-5p,plaque index(PLI),gingival index(GI)and periodontal probing depth(PD)showed an increasing trend in the mild, the moderate and the severe groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Tissue of periodonti-tis of Foxp3 mRNA,IL-34 mRNA,miR-146a-5p in patients with periodontitis were positively correlated with PD,PLI,GI(P<0.05).Conclusion:The expression levels of Foxp3 mRNA,IL-34 mRNA and miR-146a-5p in patients with periodontitis were closely related to disease progression and periodontal indexes, and could be used as potential target molecules for the preven-tion and treatment of periodontitis.
