Investigation of oral health knowledge cognition and care needs in child caregivers
Objective:To analyze the awareness needs of child caregivers for oral professional knowledge,and pro-vide reference for building a comprehensive,scientific and standardized children's oral health education model and content.Methods:The data of patients were collected through questionnaire,and analyzed.The issues include age,relationship with children,cultural level,degree of understanding of oral professional knowledge,care needs.Results:Totally 536 child caregiv-ers were included in the investigation,92.91%of child caregivers agreed that primary dental caries needs treatment,and 63.43%of child caregivers partially understand or understand the treatment of children's dental disease under general anes-thesia.The types of oral expertise needs of child caregivers of different ages,the age of the child being cared for had different needs for caregivers,and whether the child was a first-time visit had different needs for child caregivers,and the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion:Child caregivers have a high demand for oral professional knowledge,and it is neces-sary to explore a scientific and reasonable health education model.Dental care professionals should provide individualized health guidance based on the needs of child caregivers to promote the formation of oral health awareness and actions in child caregivers.
