Exploring the delaying effect of adiponectin on periodontal tissue remodelling under the PI3K/Akt signalling pathway
Objective:To explore the delaying effect of adiponectin(APN)on periodontal tissue remodelling based on the PI3K/Akt signalling pathway. Methods:Totally 150 orthodontic patients admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects, patient gender, age, body mass index(BMI)and other basic information were recorded. And to collect periodontal tissue samples,APN,osteoclast differentiation factor(ODF),core binding factor-α1(CBF-α1),hosphatidyl-inositol-3-kinase(PI3K),protein kinase B(PKB/Akt)mRNA and protein expression levels were measured. After 4 months of orthodontic treatment, the tooth movement distance of the patient was measured. Results:The differences in APN,tooth movement distance,ODF,CBF-α1,PI3K,Akt mRNA and protein expression levels among patients of different genders were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The differences in APN,tooth movement distance,ODF,CBF-α1,PI3K,Akt mRNA and protein expression levels among patients of different ages and BMI were statistically significant(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that APN mRNA was negatively correlated with tooth movement distance,ODF mRNA,PI3K mRNA,and Akt mRNA expression levels(r=-0.72,-0.70,-0.76,-0.82,P<0.05),and positively correla-ted with CBF-α1 mRNA expression level(r=0.68,P<0.05).PI3K mRNA and Akt mRNA expression levels were positively correlated with tooth movement distance and ODF mRNA expression levels(r=0.78,0.76,0.81,0.81,P<0.05)and nega-tively correlated with CBF-α1 mRNA expression levels(r=-0.67,-0.69,P<0.05).Conclusion:Periodontal tissue remod-elling in orthodontic patients is affected by the expression level of APN in periodontal tissues, the mechanism of which may be related to the regulation by APN of the expression of proteins related to the PI3K/Akt signalling pathway.
