Effects of KLF7 expression on prostate cancer screening and assessment of prognostic risk
Objective:To explore the effects of Krüppel-like factor-7(KLF7)expression on prostate cancer(PCa)screening and assessment of prognostic risk. Methods:We selected 68 PCa patients(PCa group)and 52 be-nign prostatic hyperplasia patients(BPH group). We compared tPSA,blood lipid and glucose, and KLF7 expres-sion levels between the two groups.Spearman correlation analysis was used to examine the correlation between KLF7 expression and tPSA level in PCa tissues, and the association between KLF7 expression rate and PCa prog-nostic indicators. We used the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve)to assess the diagnostic value of tPSA and KLF7 to PCa.Results:The PCa group had significantly higher tPSA and KLF7 expression levels than the BPH group(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed a positive correlation between KLF7 expression and tPSA level(r=0.329,P<0.001).KLF7 expression was significantly related to ISUP grade and clinical stage of PCa(P<0.05).ROC results showed that the area under the curve of tPSA and KLF7 for predicting PCa were 0.752 and 0.921(P<0.05),and the best cut-off values were 21.29 ng/mL and 1.30,respectively.The specificity were 64.2%and 84.9%,and the sensitivity were 77.6%and 94.0%,respectively.A total of 16 pa-tients with gray zone PCa were included in this study.KLF7 had good diagnostic efficacy for gray zone PCa pa-tients,with sensitivity, specificity, positive prognostic value, negative prognostic value and accuracy of 85.4%,91.8%,81.2%,93.8%and 89.9%,respectively.Conclusion:KLF7 expression has a good diagnostic efficacy in prostate cancer screening.Serum tPSA and KLF7 can be used as prognostic risk factors in PCa,which is of great significance for the diagnosis and treatment of PCa.
