Leveraging volatile organic compounds in non-invasive diagnosis of bladder cancer:a systematic review
Currently a non-invasive diagnostic approach to bladder cancer is a research hotspot.Since volatile organic compounds can be products of metabolic processes,a lot of studies used analytical instruments or e-nose sensor to study urine volatilomics and proved the viability of this approach.Urine volatilomics shows great poten-tial in bladder cancer diagnosis. In future, researchers need to overcome challenges like insufficient cohort size and unadjusted confounding factors, and apply more rigorous methods for annotation of volatile organic compounds.
