Clinical efficacy of single port laparoscopic repair of bladder vaginal fistula by multiple surgical approaches
Objective:To explore the safety and clinical efficacy of single port laparoscopic repair of bladder va-ginal fistula by multiple surgical approaches. Methods:We retrospectively collected and analyzed clinical data of 5 patients with bladder vaginal fistula who underwent transvesical single port laparoscopic surgery at the Third Af-filiated Hospital of Southern Medical University from September 2019 to January 2024.The surgical procedure and clinical outcomes were recorded in detail. Results:All 5 patients underwent transvaginal assisted pruning of necrotic tissues. One patient underwent transurethral suturing because of the difficulty in laparoscopic suturing. The intraoperative bleeding volume was about 20-60 mL,and the surgical time was 1.5-2.0 hours. The five patients were followed up for 2.7,2.4,1.5,1.0,and 0.7 years, respectively. They were all successfully re-paired.There were no severe complications such as peripheral organ damage or incision infection. One patient had a small volume bladder caused by radiation cystitis and had urinary frequency. The remaining 4 patients had no ob-vious urinary symptoms.Conclusion:Multi-approach assisted single port laparoscopic repair of bladder vaginal fis-tula is practical and effective. The surgical operation is simple, minimally invasive, and has a high success rate, providing a new choice for the surgical treatment of bladder vaginal fistula.
