Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics of aneurysmal bone cyst(ABC)in the skull base and to review the surgical skills related to the lesions in special part in the skull base.Methods The clinical data of a patient with ABC in the skull base admitted to Lanzhou University Second Hospital in December 2021 were analyzed retrospectively.The ABC in the skull base and the related surgical techniques combined with relevant literature were reviewed.Results Transfrontotemporal extradural approach was performed to completely remove the tumor.The pathological diagnosis was ABC and there was no recurrence during the follow-up period.Conclusions ABC of the skull base is rare and difficult to diagnose.Complete resection of the lesion is the first choice for the treatment.
