Analysis of correlation between heart rate variability and severity of elderly patients with chronic heart failure
Objective To explore the correlation between heart rate variability(HRV)and the severity of elderly patients with chronic heart failure based on the analysis of heart rate variability(HRV).Methods Ninty elderly patients with chronic heart failure in our hospital were selected as case group.According to NYHA cardiac function classification,90 elderly patients were divided into cardiac function class Ⅱ group, cardiac function class Ⅲ group and cardiac function class Ⅳ group.Thirty healthy elderly people were selected as control group. All the subjects were examined by dynamic electrocardiogram, and the case group was examined by cardiac color ultrasound and NT-proBNP.The difference of HRV index among each group and the correlation between HRV index, ejection fraction and NT-proBNP in the case group were analyzed. Results The indexes of HRV were different between the control group and different cardiac function groups. With the increase of NYHA cardiac function grade, the decrease of HRV was more obvious. There was a positive correlation between HRV index and ejection fraction. There is a negative correlation between HRV and NT-proBNP,and the correlation coefficient between SDNN and NT-proBNP is-0.697,which has a strong negative correlation. Conclusions HRV can be used to indicate the severity of elderly patients with chronic heart failure.
