Evaluation of prognosis in patients with acute ST elevation myocardial infarction using planar QRS-T angle
Objective To explore the clinical value of planar QRS-T angle assessment in patients with acute ST elevation myocardial infarction(STEAMI).Methods Eighty patients with acute ST elevation myocardial infarction who were hospitalized between January 2022 and October 2023 were selected as the study subjects. All patients underwent routine 12 lead electrocardiogram examination and measured the plane QRS-T angle. They were divided into an observation group(plane QRS-T angle>90°)and a control group(plane QRS-T angle ≤90°).Compare left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),serum troponin T(cTnT),N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide(NT proBNP)concentration, and incidence of malignant arrhythmia between two groups. Results The LVEF of the observation group patients was lower than that of the control group, and the concentrations of cTnT,NT proBNP,and the incidence of malignant arrhythmia were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions When the plane QRS-T angle is greater than 90°,patients may face a larger area of myocardial infarction, significant decline in cardiac function, and an increased risk of malignant arrhythmia. Therefore, for these patients, active measures such as vascular patency and comprehensive medical care should be taken to improve prognosis.
